Laura Laine

I absolutley adore Laura Laine.

OH DEAR!!

I must say I am rather devastated over the death of Yves Saint Laurent!!

PARIS (AFP) — French fashion legend Yves Saint Laurent, who changed the silhouette of 20th century woman with a daring new dress code, has died aged 71.

The reclusive Saint Laurent died at his Paris home of a brain tumour late Sunday after a prolonged illness and is to be buried Thursday, said his long-time partner Pierre Berge.

Mentally and physically frail through most of his life, the bespectacled Saint Laurent retired from haute couture in 2002 after a four decade career in which he dressed the likes of Catherine Deneuve, Paloma Picasso, Bianca Jagger and Lauren Bacall.

His collections took their inspiration from artists Picasso, Andy Warhol or Mondrian, and he was often seen in the company of ballet star Rudolf Nureyev and Warhol.

I grew up adoring the few YSL items that my mother owned and always tried to steal them. His designs have always had so much versatility. It’s a sad day for fashion.

Goodness Gracious Me!!

I haven’t posted in quite a long time because of stupid computer problems!! But for the moment I’ll try and post as regularly as I can, which I’m sorry probably won’t be that regular... if that makes sense. Anyway, exams are crazy and have sadly put a halt to my usual spending routine. I’m dying for some new clothes.

In face I’m rather smitten with the Calvin Klein’s “Parma” shoes but (as if life couldn’t get any more complicated) I’ve had an impossible time locating them online. Does anybody know anywhere that’s still selling them? I’m constantly searching eBay but they’re only being sold in black and I want taupe.

On the brighter side of life Sex and the City comes out in 2 days here in Australia… yeah, yeah the rest of the world has already been there and done that but it’s quite exciting for us fans down under. I’m planning on going right after my history test and then rushing back to school to sit my math (which I’m most likely going to flunk anyway) *sigh*

One Day I'll Fly Away

Okay, so i've recently moved out of my beautiful, close-to-everything, practical, lovely, old house into my "new" 70s-esk, smelly house. You can probably guess I wasn't consulted about this move and am anything but pleased about the decision. Anyhooo, the point is in my old house my lovely wardrobe was filled with a brilliant little organization system that allowed me to store all my junk but this icky-sticky new house doesn't. Never in my life have I needed extra draws or a vanity table to store all my things but it seems now I do. In the meantime i've been using one of my parents old Hartmann's suitcases to store all my things.

While I do enjoy the small thrill of knowing that I could at any time shut the lid and run away to some exotic location, it's not really practical (Plus only like 1/4 of my clothes fit in it, the rest are shoved in the tiny closet so graciously provided by ingenious builders of this wacked out house.) SIGH, so now i'm going to have to go out and spend some money on a storage system, that's only going to be dumped here in a few months when I leave home. I'm stoked.
